nomenclature and orthology notes

Following review and analysis by Xenbase ( see synteny below) this gene has been renamed, changing from msantdl.2 to mypopl2, myb-related transcription factor, partner of profilin like 2, gene 1).
DIOPT/EggNOG v5.0 analysis of Xenopus protein seqs matches the Xenopus genes with high confidence scores to other vertebrate MYPOP genes, although synteny with other verebrates is not conserved and no orthologs have be identified at this time.

In v10 Xlaevis genome annotation, there is a duplication with 3x mypop genes on the L subgenome, but no mypopl gene model is present Xla.S subgenome on Chr7S.
Using the gene immediately adjacent to timm8b as the anchor, we have therefore assigned the folowing gene symbols:
