This gene page was created after a review and synteny analysis by David Webb from the NCBI and Xenbase curators.
Based on synteny and reciprocal BLASTp matches to human GUCA1B (NP_002089.4), X. tropicalis Entrez GeneID:100489509 is now considered the true GUCA1B orthologue sharing 78% sequence identity to the human gene.
X. tropicalis GeneID:100379842 is more accurately recognised as a guca1B-related gene, sharing 63% identify with human GUCA1B, and has been renamed guca1b-like and is represented on XB-GENEPAGE-5838912.
