noxo1.2

This is the community wiki page for the gene noxo1.2 please feel free to add any information that is relevant to this gene that is not already captured elsewhere in Xenbase

nomenclature change

On review by Xenbase curators, this gene was renamed from noxo1.1 to noxo1.2, NADPH oxidase organizer 1 gene 2 as it appears to be a tandem duplication of noxo1 on Chromosome 9/9_10 in Xenopus.

In the current genome annotations, the synteny pattern is as follows.

Xtrop. v10.o Chr 9: gfer < ... noxo1.1 > ... LOC101733866 > ... XB5835757> ... gng13> ...

[where LOC101733866 = NADPH oxidase organizer 1-like [ Xenopus tropicalis (tropical clawed frog) ] Gene ID: 101733866] and

where XB5835757 =uncharacterized XB5835757 Gene ID: 779553]

in reverse order, synteny pattern in X laevis is as follows:

Xlav. v10 Chr9_10.L: XB5835757.L< ... LOC108701676< ... noxo1.1.L< ... gfer.L> LOC121397979>

where LOC108701676 = NADPH oxidase organizer 1

where LOC121397979 unconventional myosin-XV-like

and XB5835757.L is uncharacterized XB5835757 L homeolog Gene ID: 100158433]

Xla. v10 Chr9_10.S: gng13.S< ... XB5835757.S< ... noxo1.1.S< ... LOC108703232.S>.... alkbh5.S>

where XB5835757.S is uncharacterized XB5835757 S homeolog Gene ID: 108703230

and where LOC108703232 = unconventional myosin-XV-like Gene ID: 108703232]

In human. RNF151 > ... TBL3> ... NOXO1< .... GFER> ... SYNGR3>

THIS PATTERN IS SOMEWHAT BROKEN ACROSS TAXA BUT NOXO1 DOES SEEM TO ALWAYS/MOSTLY RESIDE NEXT TO GFER, growth factor, augmenter of liver regeneration [ Homo sapiens (human) ] Gene ID: 2671
