ndnfl1.1

This is the community wiki page for the gene ndnfl1.1 please feel free to add any information that is relevant to this gene that is not already captured elsewhere in Xenbase.

nomenclature changes

this gene page may repeatedly be flagged for update in the monthly Entrez gene report.

There are 2 ndnfl1 genes in Xenopus laevis and X tropicalis. These were incorrectly thought to be a tandem duplications, and thus assigned ndnfl1.1 and ndnfl1.2., however the below synteny analysis shows that they are NOT tademly duplicated, but sit on different chromosomes in X. laevis and X. tropicalis.

only 1 gene in X trop, ndnfl1.1)

Both genes are likely NOT true orthologs of human NDNF, as they have no conserved synteny pattern, so keep the 'like' designation. in Xenopus, n2nfl1.1 is on Chr3 and ndnfl1.1 is on Chr7
