On 1/3/2019, this genes' symbol/name was changed from tuba1a to tuba1cl (tubulin alpha 1c like) based on synteny and protein alignment to human.
May 2019 The name of this gene was ammended, adding 'gene 3' as suffix, and there appears to be a duplication of 3 x tuba1c genes in Xenopus.
