Following thorough review of orthology/synteny by NCBI and RefSeq project [RSCOM-110], it was found that this gene has been lost in mammals and therefor eit was recommended that it be renamed according to nomenclature rules in Xenopus, Chicken and Zebrafish.

Xt GeneID:100037865 XB-GENE-5996034, changed gene symbol and gene name From pou4f1.2 , POU class 4 homeobox 1 to pou4f4 (POU class 4 homeobox 4)
