this is a new genepage XB-GENEPAGE-25919015 for wdcp.2 with the following genes:

Xtrop GeneID: 100496847 as wdcp.2

Xla GeneID: 108716381 as wdcp.2.L

Xla GeneID: 108717606 as wdcp.2p.S

These genes represent a duplication of the wdcp genes and share the human ortholog WDCP

Since the tandemly duplicated genes in chicken and Xenopus are nearly equally distant from the single gene in human there's no rationale to decide which should be called WDCP vs WDCPL/WDCP.2. Both genes in X.tropicalis are orthologous to the single human gene; the concept of in-paralogs vs out-paralogs is useful for some situations.

Therefore we kept wdcp (XB-GENE-5729803) associated with GeneID:780332. The name of the upstream GeneID: 100496847 was thus wdcp.2/'WD repeat and coiled coil containing gene 2'.

Likewise, in X.laevis we applied the wdcp root symbol to the downstream gene (next to mfsd2b) and the wdcp.2 root symbol to the upstream gene (next to fkbp1b).
