orthology notes

As NCBI do not list the Xenopus izumo1r genes as orthologs of the same named human, mouse or rat genes, these orthologs have been removed from the Xenopus gene page.

Note that phylogenetic analysis by Fukimoto et al (2025) also demostartes that X. laevis folr4.L and X. tropicalis folr4 are not orthologous to mammalian Folr4/IZUMO1R, but rather encode a Rfbp protein (the chicken accession NM_205463 in the phlygram /tree below labelled RFBP = Gallus Gene ID: 396449, RBP riboflavin binding protein. )
