09/07/2014: the gene was changed from TAF9 RNA polymerase II, TATA box binding protein (TBP)-associated factor, 32kDa to adenylate kinase 6.  This change reflects better orthology to the mammalian ak6 gene than taf9.

Ak6 Homo Gene ID: 102157402 taf9 is not a listed synonym

Taf9 Homo  Gene ID: 6880—ak6 is not a listed synonym
= Note=
Xenopus has a taf9b gene that is the homelog of the Human TAF9 (GeneID: 6880).

i decided to stick with the ak6 symbol & name and have given others as synonyms until nomenclature stabilizes.
=summary from NCBI=
This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the adenylate kinase family of enzymes. The protein has a nuclear localization and contains Walker A (P-loop) and Walker B motifs and a metal-coordinating residue. The protein may be involved in regulation of Cajal body formation. In human, AK6 and TAF9 (GeneID: 6880) are two distinct genes that share 5' exons. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]
