renamed to npy2rl from npy2r on 9/6/2019 due to a duplicate gene symbol. True npy2r page exists. It may be appropriate to link this gene to human npy2r, but it should not be renamed back to it.

Renamed from npy2r to npy2rl due to a duplicated gene symbol ( ie 2 different gene models had the same gene symbol). It may be appropriate to link this gene to human NPY2R, but do revert/change name.

Synteny analysis supports the  unique status of the ''npy2rl'' gene, and that it is NOT an ortholog of the other  npy2r vertebrate genes, and is not syntenic with the zebrafish gene  which is also called npy2rl ( which is probably a true npy2r gene ). Therefore orthologs have been removed from this gene page. Human mouse and Zfish NPY2R genes are flanked by RBM46 and MAP9.

nomenclature changes

9/6/2019

Renamed from npy2r to npy2rl due to a duplicated gene symbol ( ie 2 different gene models had the same gene symbol). It may be appropriate to link this gene to human NPY2R, but do revert/change name.

True Xenopus npy2r page exists. see XB-GENEPAGE-983412.

synteny

27july2022

Synteny analysis supports the unique status of the npy2rl gene, and that it is NOT an ortholog of the other npy2r vertebrate genes, and is not syntenic with the zebrafish gene which is also called npy2rl ( which is probably a true npy2r gene ). Therefore orthologs have been removed from this gene page. Human mouse and Zfish NPY2R genes are flanked by RBM46 and MAP9.
