HGNC and NCBIs RefSeq team have recently renamed all ORF genes. The new gene symbols reflect the orthology to the human gene, while starting with a prefix indictating location of the ORF on the ''Xenopus'' chromosomes (c#), the 'h#' for the human chromosome then the orf #. (e.g., gene symbol ''C18orf25 '' changed to ''c1h18orf25''). Old 'orf' gene symbols are recorded as synonyms.

20JAN2023

HGNC and NCBIs RefSeq team have recently renamed all ORF genes. The new gene symbols reflect the orthology to the human gene, while starting with a prefix indicating location of the ORF on the Xenopus chromosomes (c#), the 'h#' for the human chromosome then the orf #. (e.g., gene symbol C18orf25 changed to c1h18orf25). Old 'orf' gene symbols are recorded as synonyms.

Xenopus symbol has changed for genepage ID: 988445 From c1h18orf25 to ark2n

Human symbol has changed for Entrez Gene: 147339. From C18orf25 to ARK2N

Human name has changed for Entrez Gene: 147339. From chromosome 18 open reading frame 25 to arkadia (RNF111) N-terminal like PKA signaling regulator 2N
