nomenclature has been updated to remove the 'like'  from this gene name- as synteny shows good conservation of gene order between the human functional MSANTD2 gene and its Xenopus ortholog, so the 'like 'is considered unnecessary.

the human ortholog has been updated  for the ''Xenopus msantd2l'' genes.

Synteny patterns support the ortholog change from the human MSAND2P1 (a psuedogene on chromsome 21) to MSANTD2, a functional gene on Chromosome 11.

nomenclature changes

11.30.2020.

This gene 's name was corrected by removing human loci number from the gene name and gene symbol, following notification of the issue by NCBIs refseq coordinator (RSCOM-106).

Name changed from: Myb/SANT-like DNA-binding domain containing 100496870 gene 1 [provisional] to Myb/SANT DNA-binding domain containing like gene 1 [provisional] ( Note also corrected syntaxt to follow human gene name).

Symbol changed from myb1.1100496870 to msantdl.1 [provisional]

05 JUNE 2023

To simplify gene nomenclature and orthology assiment, we removed the '.1' and [provisonal] from gene symbol and gene name. Status was the changed to 'partially curated' within the database.

Note that this gene model is not represented in the v10 X. tropicalis assembly.

NB: Human symbol for this genes ortholog is MSANTD2P1, as it is a pseudogene in Human, whereas it is a protein coding gene in Xenopus.
