Be aware that the crystallin gene family is vast and complex, and it is not trivial to unravel true orthologs through synteny analysis.
Xenopus crygd appear to be not a true ortholog of Human CRYGD, but a duplicated -like gene, so has been renamed crygdl2.2.
Do not change name until a thorough review has been completed.
