In Situ preparation note
Several of the community submitted images from the Patient lab for this gene show embryos which have been cleared using a 2:1 preparation of benzyl benzoate and benzoic acid (BB:BA or BA:BB).
nomenclature changes
8/29/2019
The gene was renamed to cpo.1 when tandem duplications were discovered
09/20/2024
Xenopus gene symbol changed from cop.1 to cpo.
gene models
Note that the v10 genome build for X. laevis show no .S model for the cpo gene. It is a singleton on the L-subgeneome.
