Xenopus gene symbol reviewed. Even though excitatory amino acid transporter genes have 'eaat2' gene symbol in insects, the vertebrate orthologs of these genes are the slc1a2's which are on Chromosome 4/4L/4S. This gene model is on Chromosome 7. We are keeping gene symbol LOC100496635 , and not changing to eaat2 at this point in time.
