Note that ''Xenopus'' carry this ''rab35'' gene (which we believe to be the true ortholog of human RAB35) and an additional rab35-like gene, called ''rab35l'', which may also be an ortholog of human RAB35.  Further invesigation i sneeded to confirn whether ''rab35l'' gene representa an instance of gene duplication.

rab35

This is the community wiki page for the gene rab35 please feel free to add any information that is relevant to this gene that is not already captured elsewhere in Xenbase

summary for human RAB35 from AGR/NCBI

Enables GTPase activity; guanyl ribonucleotide binding activity; and phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate binding activity. Involved in several processes, including endosomal transport; plasma membrane to endosome transport; and protein localization to endosome. Located in several cellular components, including clathrin-coated endocytic vesicle; clathrin-coated pit; and intercellular bridge. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]

Note that Xenopus carry this rab35 gene (which we believe to be the true ortholog of human RAB35) and an additional rab35-like gene, called rab35l, which may also be an ortholog of human RAB35. Further invesigation is needed to confirn whether rab35l gene representa an instance of gene duplication.
