This gene name and gene symbol was changed from "coiled-coil domain containing 3-like 2 (ccdc3-like 2)" to "coiled-coil domain containing 3 like (ccdc3l)" to harmonize the name following nomenclature guidelines. | |||
There does not appear to be two distinct ccdc3 -'like' genes, so the '2' is unnecessary, and 'like' can be part of a gene name, but is not used in the gene symbol, where an 'l' is preferable. | |||

This gene name and gene symbol was changed from "coiled-coil domain containing 3-like 2 (ccdc3-like 2)" to "coiled-coil domain containing 3 like (ccdc3l)" to harmonize the name following nomenclature guidelines.
There does not appear to be two distinct ccdc3 -'like' genes, so the '2' is unnecessary, and 'like' can be part of a gene name, but is not used in the gene symbol, where an 'l' is preferable.
