Based on reciprocal best BLASTp matches and synteny, the symbols for XB-GENEPAGE-852929 (chn1/chimerin 1) and XB-GENEPAGE-950873 (chn2/chimerin 2) were incorrectly assigned ie switched around. That is, XB-GENEPAGE-852929 should have been called chn2/chimerin 2 and XB-GENEPAGE-950873 should have been called chn1/chimerin 1. This has now been corrected. | |||

08.20.20 Based on reciprocal best BLASTp matches and synteny, the symbols for XB-GENEPAGE-852929 (chn1/chimerin 1) and XB-GENEPAGE-950873 (chn2/chimerin 2) were incorrectly assigned ie switched around. That is, XB-GENEPAGE-852929 should have been called chn2/chimerin 2 and XB-GENEPAGE-950873 should have been called chn1/chimerin 1. This has now been corrected.
The CHN2 gene sits at CREB5>...TRIL<...CPVL<...CHN2>...PRR15>...WIPF3>...SCRN1< in all other gnathostomes
So Xtrop GeneID: 100496459 and Xla.L GeneID: 444340 on chromosome 6 are CHN2 (also supported by BLASTp).
The CHN1 gene sits at ATP5MC3/G3>...ATF2>...CHN1>...CHRNA1>...WIPF1> in all osteichthyes except frogs, which have just one-sided synteny of ATP5MC3/G3>...ATF2>...CHN1>...RBM45>...OSBPL6>...PRKRA<.
So Xtrop GeneID: 100038142, Xla.L GeneID: 380027 and Xla.S GeneID: 108703013 on chromosome 9 are CHN1 (also supported by BLASTp).
