I have renamed this "atraid-like" (''atraidl, all-trans retinoic acid induced differentiation factor like'') (although autocorrect would like to make it afraid, which has its charm).
The protein sequence/BLAST does identify this chr8 pc gene as a true ATRAID member.  If it occurs in other vertebrates, I have suggested to NCBI's David Webb that we might be able to sname it '''''atraid2'''''.

orthology & synteny notes

Synteny and BLAST support the true ATRAID orthologs in Xenopus as those on Chr.5/5S. THese models are here on XB-GENEPAGE-29096946.

In X.laevis_ chr5S: _ppm1g< nrbp1> atraid< cad> uncn1> trim54<

In X. laevis 5L: no gene model in v10

In X. tropicalis chr5: ppm1g< nrbp1> LOC> krtcap3> ift172< atraid< LOC< LOC< LOC< cad> mpv17> ucn> trim54<

human: PRR30< TCF23> SLC5A6< ATRAID> CAD> SLC30A3< DNAJC5G>

The 2nd atraid gene in Xenopus occurs on Xtr.chr8.

I have renamed this "atraid-like" (atraidl, all-trans retinoic acid induced differentiation factor like) (although autocorrect would like to make it afraid, which has its charm).

The protein sequence/BLAST does identify this chr8 pc gene as a true ATRAID member. If it occurs in other vertebrates, I have suggested to NCBI's David Webb that we might be able to sname it atraid2.
