nomenclature updates
06MAY2026 Xenopus gene names and symbol has changed from ido1 indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1, to ido2, indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 2 based on orthology prediction analsyis by NCBI.
Note that IDO1 and IDO2 are adjacent, duplicated genes on Chrom8 in human but Xenopus only has the single gene, ido2, on chr3/3L.
In humans, the enzymes encoded by IDO1 & IDO2 genes metabolize tryptophan in the kynurenine pathway.
