''Xenopus gene names and symbol has changed from ''ido1 indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1'', to ''ido2, indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 2'' based on orthology prediction analsyis by NCBI.
 
Note that IDO1 and IDO2 are adjacent, duplicated genes on Chrom8 in human but ''Xenopus'' only has the single gene, ''ido2'', on chr3/3L.
 
In humans, the enzymes encoded by  IDO1 & IDO2 genes metabolize tryptophan in the kynurenine pathway.

06MAY2026 Xenopus gene names and symbol has changed from ido1 indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1, to ido2, indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 2 based on orthology prediction analsyis by NCBI.

Note that IDO1 and IDO2 are adjacent, duplicated genes on Chrom8 in human but Xenopus only has the single gene, ido2, on chr3/3L.
