batf2

This is the community wiki page for the Xenopus batf2 genes, please feel free to add any information that is relevant to this gene that is not already captured elsewhere in Xenbase.

annotation notes

01OCT2024

I have added the X. laevis.L model for LOC108713883 to this gene page as batf2.L, as it is supported by synteny, and the model was poorly annotated. NCBI had it characterized as basic leucine zipper transcriptional factor ATF-like 3, which I believe, but the number is just incorrect, and it should be 2, not 3. (cjz)

Summary from NCBI for BATF2 - basic leucine zipper ATF-like transcription factor 2

Predicted to enable DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific and RNA polymerase II cis-regulatory region sequence-specific DNA binding activity. Predicted to be involved in defense response to protozoan; myeloid dendritic cell differentiation; and regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Predicted to be part of chromatin. Predicted to be active in nucleus. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]
