Xenopus Gene Name and symbol was changed from a2ml1.6, alpha-2-macroglobulin-like protein 1 gene 6 to a2ml3a.5, alpha-2-macroglobulin like 3a gene 5 following phylogenetic analysis of the vertebrate ovostatin and A2M protein/gene family by Xenbase and the HGNC.

a2ml1.6 is recorded as a synonym.
