Xenopus Gene Name and symbol was changed from from a2ml1, alpha-2-macroglobulin-like 1 to a2ml3b, alpha-2-macroglobulin like 3b/alpha-2-macroglobulin like 3b gene 1 following phylogenetic analysis of the vertebrate ovostatin and A2M protein/gene family by Xenbase and the HGNC.

a2ml1 is recorded as a synonym.
