Synteny and BLAST support the true ATRAID orthologs in Xenopus as those on Chr.5/5S. THese models are here on XB-GENEPAGE-29096946.

The 2nd atraid gene in Xenopus occurs on Xtr.chr8.

I have renamed this "atraid-like" (atraidl, all-trans retinoic acid induced differentiation factor like) (although autocorrect would like to make it afraid, which has its charm).

The protein sequence/BLAST does identify this chr8 pc gene as a true ATRAID member. If it occurs in other vertebrates, I have suggested to NCBI's David Webb that we might be able to sname it atraid2.
