nomenclature updates

16APR2026

Xenopus gene symbol has been updated from LOC100490370 to cpo, as it's orthologous to human GeneID: 130749 CPO by BLASTp and synteny.


The X.laevis L model was added to this gene page, supported by synteny, and its name/symbol changed from cpo.3.L carboxypeptidase O gene 3 L homeolog to cpo, carboxypeptidase O.

I also added the missing cpo.S model to teh gene page, identified via synteny and EggNog match to homology group.
