nomenclature updates

18MAY2026

Xenopus gene nomenclature was updated, changing from fetubl, fetuin-B like to fetubl.2, fetuin B like gene 2.

This is a part of a 5-gene duplication on Chr1 in X. tropicalis, flanked by nop53 and a series of vomeronasal receptors downstream, and more vomeronasal receptors upstream.

Note that true FETUB orthologs are on Chr5/5L/5S.

nomenclature changes

This gene symbol changed from LOC100038041 to fetubl after quick review. this gen is located on Xtr.chr1. The refseq protein sequence matches the FETUB homology group in EggNogg 5.0, yet the true fetab genes are on chr5, thus the like designation. -CJZ
