nomenclature updates

18MAY2026

Xenopus gene nomenclature was updated, changing from ‘’MGC69493, MGC69493 protein to fetubl.4, fetuin-B like gene 4’’

This is a part of a 4 ( or maybe 5)-gene duplication on Chr1 in X. tropicalis, flanked by nop53 and a series of vomeronasal receptors downstream, and more vomeronasal receptors upstream.

Note that true FETUB orthologs are on Chr5/5L/5S.
