The Xenopus transglutaminase 3 (tgm3) genes show 8x tandem duplication and synteny to human TGM3 is difficult to establish.

This gene page (XB-GENEPAGE-22168643) was created, with the 'like' designation, and gene number to reflect preliminary analysis by Xenbase during Xenopus v9/10 genome annotation.

It should not be changed without detailed analysis and feedback from NCBI.

Xenopus gene name was updated changing from tgm3l.5, transglutaminase 3 like, gene 5 to tgm6.2, transglutaminase 6 gene 2 following NCBI orthology assertions, and a match of X.trop protein to the TGM6 homology group in EggNog5.0.

This gene is adjacent to Xtr.tgm6, so has been given the gene 2/.2 suffix.
