nomenclature changes 08OCT2026

Xenopus gene name was changed from "LOC733714, novel solute carrier family 18 (vesicular monoamine) slca18 protein" to slc18a1.3, solute carrier family 18 member A1 gene 3, prompted by orthology calls from NCBI and supported DIOPT and synteny analysis.

Note that X.tropicalis has 3 copies of 'slc18a1' genes (scl18a1, scl18a1.2 and slc18a1.3) on Chr3.

X. laevis similary has 2 copies, slc18a1 and slc18a1.2 on Chr3L.

Note that true 'slc18a2' genes are found on Chr7/7L/7S in Xenopus.
