The Apoptosis Inhibitor 2,2ʹ-Methylenebis(1,3-cyclohexanedione) ( aka M50054 and referenced under CAS 54135-60-3), controls the biological activity of Apoptosis. This small molecule/inhibitor is primarily used for Cancer applications, and in Xenopus has been used in amputation/regeneration studies. The anti-apoptotic effects have been shown to be attributable to inhibition of caspase-3 activation (IC50 = 334 nM), however it does not exhibit any direct inhibition of caspase-3 enzymatic activity.
