Caution: The gene name/symbol 'nodal' is often used in different publications to refer to both.either nodal1 (aka xnr1) and nodal (aka xnr4). Xenbase has in the past "text matched" 'nodal' to the 'xnr4' gene page, but this creates an unusually high number of articles associated with this gene. In the future, Xenbase will only auto-match 'xnr4' and to the true 'nodal' page and xnr1 to the nodal1 genepage, and we will manually annotate articles that reference 'nodal' as these papers pass through the curation pipeline.
