The paralogous gene, PTTG1IP, is consistently found upstream of the SUMO3 gene in Osteichthyes and this PTTG1IP-like gene is consistently found upstream of the CDK14 gene in Osteichthyes. However, in mammals this PTTG1IP-like gene is sometimes unannotated or is annotated as non-coding or as protein coding. I'm confident this PTTG1IP-like gene is protein coding throughout Osteichthyes.
