The true human ortholog of this gene, FOXL3, is neighbouring the ncRNA gene FOXL3-OT1 and was previously annotated as an ortholog of the latter. The symbol has been corrected to foxl3 and full gene name changed from "FOXL3 overlapping transcript 1" to "forkhead box L3". Supported by synteny and sequence similarity shared between X. tropicalis protein XP_002932017.1 and proteins for FOXL3 orthologs (XP_002932017.1 human, XP_006504780.1 mouse, NP_001182055.1 danio).
