gene identification for the MO

01/27/2016:

This MO is used in In XB-ART-41199: Kurauchi et al. 2010 Involvement of Neptune in induction of the hatching gland and neural crest in the Xenopus embryo.

The gene is referred to as Neptune- but no accession number or sequence is given, except for the MO sequence.

Neptune is synonym for 2 different kruppel like factor genes...klf4 and klf17.

BLAST of Klf4 MO1 and Klf4 MO2 seq to X. laevis genome V9.1 and then the exons of that gene to the mRNA- the best match (100%) is klf4 (not klf17, (93% and lower).

This may or may not be correct- but that's our best prediction given current gene models.
