Following review by NCBIs ref seq, see RSCOM-684, these Xenopus genes have been renamed, changing from tmem198 to tmem198l, as the true orthology of TMEM198 is Xtrop GeneID 116407834 (Gene Symbol: LOC116407834; Gene Name: transmembrane protein 198) . This is supported by synteny.

As an interim measure, the genes on this gene page will be provisionally referred to as 'like ' until further characterized.
