nomenclature changes

Xenbase curators are currently reviewing the nomenclature of the fucolectin gene family as represented in the v10 genome assemblies.

stay tuned for new gene pages and a sensible meaningful naming scheme for the fudolectins!

30MAR2026

Xenopus gene names were updated, changing from LOC100491211, fucolectin like 2, to fucolectin-e.2, fucolectin-e, gene 2. Note that these genes are an upstream, tandem duplicate of the fucoletin-e genes, on chr6 in X. tropicalis, and Chr6S in X. laevis.
