tuba4a

This is the community wiki page for the gene tuba4a please feel free to add any information that is relevant to this gene that is not already captured elsewhere in Xenbase

On 1/3/2019, this genepage was changed from tuba4b to tuba4a (tubulin alpha 4a) based on synteny and protein alignment to human.

nomenclature changes

3/24/2015

Human name has changed for Entrez Gene: 80086. From tubulin, alpha 4b (pseudogene) to tubulin, alpha 4b

05/13/19

Human symbol has changed for genepage ID: 489926 From tuba4a to TUBA4B

06/03/25

Note that human has a duplication at the TUBA4 locus, and thus genes are namds TUBA4A and TUBA4B.

NCBI list only mammalian orthologs of TUBA4B, so all other tuba4's get the 'a' suffix.

(This gene should not have been changed from 'a' to 'b', our apologies for any confusion this may have caused, and is hereafter changed back to tuba4a in Xenopus.
