Xenopus gene name & symbol was changed from KIAA1755, KIAA1755 ortholog to plekhg4bl, pleckstrin homology and RhoGEF domain containing G4B like. This is based on the X.alevis S protein which was characterized as a "pleckstrin homology and RhoGEF domain containing G4B like", and the gene symbol in human with the same root name.

THis decision is supported by synteny, in that all 3 Xenopus models are syntenic; and protein similarity. Below is the X. trop v Xlaevis S proteins alignment stats (using EMBOSS WATER PSA) .
