nomenclature history

22January2026

The Xenopus genes on this page XB-GENEPAGE-29084198 were renamed, changing to irs2 from LOC100498409 , LOC108708462 , LOC108709741, following synteny evidence. These are the true irs2 orthologs on Chr2/2L/2S.

The 'irs2-like' genes are on the tips of Chr3/3L.I can find no gene model or irsl.S, but LOC108703422, a very small pseudogene (1,639bp), may be a candidate.
