This name update was based on a DIOPT/EggNog analaysi that aligned.matched the Xtropicalis refSeq protein to the ZNF569 homology group with high confidence. ZNF569 is found in many mammal genomes.

This anlaysis also macthed the Xtrop protein with many unnamed proteins ( />190 in 55 species) in including Mouse Zfp932 (one of the only namaed ZNF proteins in this group), and this Xtrop Ensembl accession: 8364.ENSXETP00000044937
