This is the community wiki page for the gene rab10l please feel free to add any information that is relevant to this gene that is not already captured elsewhere in Xenbase.
nomenclature updates
02.27.2-21 the name of this newly annotated gene is currently being reviewed by David Webb at NCBI/RefSeq.
based on synteny and sequence identity, it is suggested to be 'Ras-related protein Rab-10-like' with gene symbol rab10l in Xenopus.
Note: the gene seems to be lost in mammals, and Zebrafish, but is present in chicken (Gene ID:421099)
syntenty notes:
non-mammalian osteichthyes in general: CCDC178>...KLHL14>...RAB10L>...GAREM1>...MEP1B<
mammals (in general) (lost): CCDC178>...KLHL14>... ...GAREM1>...MEP1B<
Frogs and reedfish: CCDC178>...KLHL14>...RAB10L>...GAREM1>...MCM3>...MEP1B<
D.rerio: I can't find RAB10L in D. rerio: CCDC178>...KLHL14>...ABCD4>...OBSCNB>
skate (also missing/lost): CCDC178>...KLHL14>... ...GAREM1>...LRRC6>...KCNQ3>
most gnathostomes have paralogous gene pair: KIF3C<...RAB10>...GAREM2>...HADHA<...HADHB>
lamprey has just RAB10L (GeneID:116942554) and GAREM (GeneID:116942506) genes so RAB10-GAREM duplication may have happened in gnathostomes

Xenopus gene symbol changed from XB5802730 to rab10l
Xenopus gene name changed from XB5802730 ras10 like [provisional] to RAB10, member RAS oncogene family like to conform to nomenclature guidelines, ie., Xenopus gene following human gene name.
