16MAR2023 This gene was renamed dmd, dystrophin, by Xenbase, following nomenclature for the human ortholog, a d it appears to be the true ortholog of human and other vertebrate DMD, based on synteny.

Previously, dmd was given the gene symbol of dmd.3, which is now recorded as a synonym.
